The early months of professional practice can be challenging

It can be a lonely road - full of doubt, questions and pressure to perform

How we support newly qualified professionals

1:1 Coaching Sessions

Personalised support to help you navigate the early stages of your career, make sense of your experience, and feel more confident in your role.

Many people come feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or questioning whether healthcare is right for them.

Coaching provides a space to pause, reflect, remember what you CAN do and make a plan for what needs support.

It is OK to not be OK.

Peer support

Mary's Place® Online offers a supportive space to connect with others who understand the realities of early practice.

Many people can feel alone in what they are experiencing, even when surrounded by others at work.

The community offers a place to share, reflect, and feel less isolated, helping you to recognise that what you’re experiencing can be uncomfortable - but normal. Experienced staff who can share helpful insights are welcome.

Well-being Retreat Days

Our signature Mary’s Place® offer, providing dedicated time away from the day-to-day to pause, reflect, and reset.

These uniquely structured days combine guided reflection and restorative practices with coaching-informed support enabling staff to feel more grounded, calm and with a renewed sense of positivity about their role.

We offer retreat days independently or as part of preceptorship programmes.

About Mary's Place® CIC

Mary’s Place® was founded in 2023 by Julie Bilboe-Crane, a nurse, educator, and coach with over 35 years’ experience in healthcare and higher education.

The work is shaped by both professional experience and a deep understanding of the challenges that come with transition, particularly in the early stages of a healthcare career.

Mary’s Place® was created to offer something different: a space that is reflective, supportive, grounded in the realities of practice, and underpinned by research.

Further support is provided by Dr. Victoria Wilson-Crane, an Educational Innovator and a passionate supporter of Mary's Place®.

Work with us

We work with healthcare organisations to support newly qualified professionals through the transition into practice.

Our sessions can be delivered as part of preceptorship programmes or as standalone wellbeing and reflection days.

We provide a structured space for staff to pause, reflect, and make sense of their experience, supporting both wellbeing and professional confidence.

We work closely with each organisation to understand their context and tailor our approach to their staff and setting.

Our focus is on helping individuals make sense of their experience, reconnect with what matters, and move forward with confidence.

We are always happy to have an initial conversation to explore what might be

possible for your organisation.

"Having the expert support from Mary's Place® has been a game-changer for our preceptorship programme"

Vanessa Loftus, Preceptorship Lead NHS UHLG
